The Biochemical Society is delighted to announce that it has agreed to fund a Daphne Jackson Trust (DJT) fellowship. The fellowships are designed to help scientists, engineers and technologists return to their careers following a break, and are open to both women and men.
Further details of the Society’s support will be announced soon. You can read our Policy Manager’s report, ‘Returning role models’, from 2012’s inaugural DJT Research Conference at our Policy blog here.
Celebrating Women in Biochemistry 2013
The sponsorship forms part of our year of Celebrating Women in Biochemistry 2013, the most recent event of which saw Shabana Mahmood MP speak at her first formal engagement since being made the Shadow Minister of State for Universities & Science, at our Launch Reception. Shabana praised the Society’s work in the area of gender equality in science, particularly our introduction of Stay Connected Bursaries and High-Sci school lectures.
