Guest post from the Daphne Jackson Trust.
The Daphne Jackson Trust is the only charitable organisation in the UK solely dedicated to returning scientists, engineers or technologists to their careers following a break of two years or more. The Trust offers flexible, part-time, paid research fellowships in universities and research establishments in the UK. The Trust has a 96% success rate of returning its Fellows to SET-based careers.
Sponsored Daphne Jackson Trust Fellowship opportunities exist at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Huddersfield.
Applications are invited for a Daphne Jackson Fellowship that will be half sponsored and hosted at the University of Edinburgh. We are particularly interested in applicants wishing to conduct research in the areas covered by the Science and Technology Facilities Council and the Natural Environment Research Council. This opportunity needs to be carried out within the College of Science and Engineering within the University Edinburgh.
Applications are also invited for a fellowship that will be half sponsored and hosted at the University of Huddersfield. We are particularly interested in applicants wishing to conduct research in Engineering.
Please see the Trust’s website www.daphnejackson.org for full eligibility criteria for the fellowships. If you would like to be considered for either opportunity, please submit your CV along with a personal statement explaining your career break and future career plans to the Trust office Djmft@surrey.ac.uk by 14th December 2012. Alternatively contact the office on 01483 689166 for further information.
