We started off our Centenary year by organizing the first joint meeting with the British Ecological Society and the Society for Experimental Biology – Stress responses: molecules, organisms and environment.
The meeting was held at Charles Darwin House the new home of the three organisations.
This collaborative event showcased leading research on stress responses and aimed to develop cross-disciplinary research in this area. A distinguished list of international speakers covered studies from biochemistry and gene regulatory networks through organisms to ecophysiology, behaviour and ecology. The programme aimed to have a number of broad cross-disciplinary sub-themes.
The meeting was very successful and provided interesting discussion both within specific scientific areas and across all of the disciplines.
The winner of the Biochemical Society Centenary Poster Prize was Miss Bobbie Johnson from University of Birmingham, UK!
