We’re proud to be supporting the Science is Vital campaign. With the comprehensive spending review (which will set Government departmental budgets until 2014) due on October 20th, many scientists and engineers are becoming increasingly anxious about their prospects over the next few years – and indeed prospects for British sciences and engineering as a whole.
How can you get involved?
Biochemical Society CEO Dr Chris Kirk says:
‘The Biochemical Society, a UK-based Learned Society with a membership of nearly 6,000, is pleased to lend its support to the Science is Vital campaign. Whilst recognising the difficult economic climate, we urge the Government to protect our leading position in scientific research from cuts of a magnitude that would cause permanent damage, both to the UK economy and to its science base.’
